Although there is a promotional aspect to regular newsletters / magazines, the primary purpose of such publications is usually for existing clients. As such, impact of features is not as important as with other promotional / marketing material. Information can be provided in detail and be designed (in both the graphics and the text) to suit the client base - i.e. informal and friendly, or formal and professional.

There is a range of printing methods that can be used for regular publications depending on the budget and the mailing list. For some newsletters, I use a pre-printed full colour A4 template and each issue is photocopied onto the sheets and folded to DLE for economic mailing. Others are produced in two colour. Other companies use their own letterhead and I just do the layout for the text and graphics.
